| Settlers arrived at Boulder Creek in October 1858 and built 11 cabins. Boulder County was originally called Jackson County by the Jefferson Territorial officers who authorized nine counties in 1860. Jefferson Territory was superseded in 1861 by Colorado Territory and Jackson County became Boulder County. |
